Overview

The Tamil Nadu Single Window Portal (TNSWP), operated under the Tamil Nadu Business Facilitation Act, 2018, is the state's unified digital gateway for industrial and business approvals. It covers more than 200 regulatory clearances across 30+ government departments, from land-use conversion and building permits through environmental consent, factory licensing, fire safety, and power connections.

Each approval has its own documentation standards, drawing specifications, and statutory timelines, and most applications trigger queries from the reviewing department that need a technically sound response within a fixed window. The portal's "Know Your Clearance" (KYC) wizard maps out the approvals a project needs based on industry type, land area, power load and environmental categorization, but the wizard only tells you what to file, not how to get it through.
