Saanvi Advisory TRUSTED PARTNER FOR REGULATORY EXCELLENCE

Overview

Special Economic Zones operate under their own statutory framework, the SEZ Act, 2005 and SEZ Rules, 2006, with their own approval chain: the Unit Approval Committee, the Development Commissioner, the Board of Approval, and the jurisdictional Customs authority. A unit inside an SEZ reports against that framework for as long as it holds SEZ status, not just at the point of setup.

Saanvi Advisory's SEZ work covers that full lifecycle, drawing on the same compliance background behind the rest of this site. The largest share of it is ongoing: the Net Foreign Exchange and Annual Performance Report obligations that run for the life of the unit, not the one-time approval that gets it started.

What's Included

  • Setup & LOA Approval. Drafting Form F with the supporting project report and financial projections, and representing the application before the Unit Approval Committee for the Letter of Approval.
  • BLUT Execution. Executing the Bond cum Legal Undertaking (Form H) with the Specified Officer, the step that enables duty-free procurement.
  • Portal & Registration. Enrolling on the SEZ Online System, and setting up the Import Export Code, RCMC, and SEZ-specific GST registrations a unit needs before it can operate.
  • NFE & APR Compliance. Projecting and tracking Net Foreign Exchange over the five-year block under Rule 25, and filing the Annual Performance Report with the Development Commissioner.
  • DTA Sales & Duty Advisory. Advising on Domestic Tariff Area sale clearances, applicable IGST and Basic Customs Duty, and job-work or inter-unit transfer permissions.
  • Exit & De-bonding. Calculating duty on depreciated capital goods, securing NOCs from Customs, and managing the surrender of SEZ status when a unit exits.

Engagement Process

  1. Feasibility & Structuring

Checking the proposed activity against SEZ criteria and projecting Net Foreign Exchange over the five-year block before anything is filed.

  2. Application & Approval

Form F and project report preparation, and representation before the Unit Approval Committee through to the Letter of Approval.

  3. Operational Setup

BLUT execution, SEZ Online System enrollment, and the IEC, RCMC, and GST registrations needed to begin operating.

  4. Ongoing Compliance

APR filings, NFE tracking, DTA sale advisory, and reconciliation audits for as long as the unit holds SEZ status.

Who This Is For

Businesses operating as SEZ Unit Holders across manufacturing, services, trading, or FTWZ activities, units approaching a five-year Letter of Approval renewal, and units evaluating an exit from SEZ status.
